Horst Görtz-Stiftung enables two Syrian Refugees Masterstudies IT Securiy at the TU Darmstadt
Scholarship for Two Year Studies
Die Horst Görtz-Stiftung is supporting two Syrian refugees during their master studies IT security at the TU Darmstadt.
The prospective specialists for IT security, Ahmad D. und Yasser S., have finished their bachelor studies in Syria and had to flee from Aleppo to Germany in 2015. After successful completion of a university preparatory German course for refugees at the TU Darmstadt they are now being supported by the Horst-Görtz-Stiftung during their two year master studies IT security with a monthly sum of 1020 Euro.
The foundation has already been supporting the cybersecurity research in Darmstadt for many years. As a benefactor for a junior professorship for security engineering at the TU Darmstadt and founder of numerous scholarships for establishing reserch groups it is a signifit part in the development and establishment of today´s CRISP.
Horst Görtz, Founder and chairman of the Foundation, kann bring together two topics with the scholarships which issues are important to him „With integration education plays an important role. Enabling refugees the education to become cybersecurity experts, is a new and important goal of my foundation, because cybersecurity experts are urgently needed in Germany.“
The Horst-Görtz-Stiftung is committed to science and technology in research and education, especially information security,since 1996.
