Three new Privacy Firendly-Apps available
With the games „Battleship“, „Rock-Paper-Scissors“ and “Ludo” SECUSO –Research group of TU Darmstadt publishes three new game-apps for Android devices, which can be enjoyed by the whole family.

On December 1, 2017 the startup incubator "StartUpSecure" started at CRISP. The incubator ist sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and aims to promote young companies in the field of IT-Security. A start incubator "StartUpSecure" will also be set up at the two other competence centers for cyber security CISPA in Saarbrücken and KASTEL in Karlsruhe as well as at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

In a new cinema advert the Hessen State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts (HMWK) draws attention to the Cybersecurity research in Darmstadt. The message of the advert is that the State Hessen invests in the security of its citizens and can be seen in cinemas for 7th December to 27th December 2017. The advert was produced by the initiative "Hessen schafft Wissen.de" on behalf of HMWK.
CAST-Förderpreis IT-Security 2017
For the 17th time the CAST-Förderpreis IT-Security was awarded yesterday. Patrik Holzer, TU Darmstadt, took the second place in the category Master-Thesis with his Thesis "Recovering Short Generators of Principal Fractional Ideals in Cyclotomic Fields of Conductor p^alpha q^beta".

The MetaMiner, developed by Fraunhofer SIT, exposes and blocks tracking-services within Apps, which secretly spy on users. The pursuit of user activities on the web, so called Tracking, has been a known data privacy problem for a long time. Information about which sites a user visits on the web and which interests they have are collected in the background. Numerous solutions are existing for internet browser, which make tracker visible for the user and which protect them.
