Innovations in Mobile Privacy and Security (IMPS) 2017
Prof. Melanie Volkamer, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, is one of the organizers of the meeting "Innovations in Mobile Privacy and Security (IMPS) 2017". The IMPS 2017 will be a one day workshop on the occaison of the IEEE Euro S&P 2017.

Prof. Marc Fischlin und Felix Günther, both CYSEC (at) TU Darmstadt introduced their paper at the 2nd IEEE European Symposium on Security and Privacy, in short IEEE European S&P, with the title "Replay Attacks on Zero Round-Trip Time: The Case of the TLS 1.3 Handshake Candidates".
Since 1980 the IEEE-Symposium for security and privacy is being held, to which international IT security experts come together, in order to discuss the newest developments in computer security and electronic privacy. After the success of the international meetings the IEEE also initiates a european symposium for security and privacy (EuroS & P), which is annually organized in a european city.
Horst Görtz-Stiftung enables two Syrian Refugees Masterstudies IT Securiy at the TU Darmstadt
Die Horst Görtz-Stiftung is supporting two Syrian refugees during their master studies IT security at the TU Darmstadt.
The prospective specialists for IT security, Ahmad D. und Yasser S., have finished their bachelor studies in Syria and had to flee from Aleppo to Germany in 2015. After successful completion of a university preparatory German course for refugees at the TU Darmstadt they are now being supported by the Horst-Görtz-Stiftung during their two year master studies IT security with a monthly sum of 1020 Euro.
CRISP supports the worldwide March for Science on 22nd of April 2017
CRISP officially supports the March for Science offiziell as an institution. Further supporters are TU Darmstadt, the Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.The March for Science is a worldwide initiative for the value of science, research and facts. It is against, that scientifically based facts are negated, relativised or simply „alternative facts“ are opposed equally, in order to gain capital politically.

The research group „Sichere Mobile Netzwerke“ headed by Prof. Matthias Hollick, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, and six further research groups out of entire Germany have submitted a statement regarding the EU-guideline „Radio Equipment Directive (RED)“.The guideline updates the specifications for the certification of radion stations which also include WLAN-Router and Smartphones. This guideline will be implemented in Germany as the Funkanlagengesetz.

The new research project „Hardwarebasierte Sicherheitsplattform für Eisenbahn Leit- und Sicherungstechnik“ – in short HASELNUSS – develops a security system, which defends from attacks and also includes the long life cycle ofthe trains.

The CRISP partner Fraunhofer SIT now offers a commercial solution of the Volksverschlüsselung application (VV app, for short) for small and medium- sized companies. They can now apply for the practical test at www.volksverschluesselung.de/kmu, by which the companies may test the system for one year free of charge. The necessary individual registration of selected companies takes place through an internet video chat.
