In his statement Prof. Buchmann discusses the connection between quantum technology and computer security. In quantum technology he sees a great threat to computer security but simultaneously a huge chance for new developments in computer security. In cooperation with computer science, quantum cryptography can make important contributions to develop systems  that are secure in the long-term. He emphasized, that appropriate experiments already exist.
