Cybersecurity and Cyberconflict: State of the Art Research Conference
CRISP-Researchers speak in the panel "Cyber violence"
International researchers specializing in the strategic (Miss) use of cyberspace by state and non-state actors will analyze the governance challenges involved at the conference. Prof. Christian Reuter and Marc-André Kaufhold, M.Sc., both CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, talk in the panel "Cyber-violence" about "Cultural Violence and Peace in Social Media".
Among other things, 25-35 participants discuss how power relations between political actors are influenced and how cyberspace shapes our understanding of "old" strategic concepts such as deterrence and coercion. In addition, they analyze how cyber insecurity influences the roles and political opportunities of small and medium-sized states as well as semi-state and non-state actors.
The conference is organized by the Center for Security Studies, ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and will take place from 27th to 29th September 2018 in Zurich.
