The visitors of Hessentags can record pictures of their finger veins and can take a stroll trough the Smart City of tomorrow.
Biometric recognition with finger veins
Friday, 1. June researcher of the University for Applied Science of Darmstadt explain how to identify someone by their pictures of their finger veins. For this purpose several examples will be presented by recording pictures with a finger nerve sensor. Then visitors can test the system themselves.
Smart City Demonstrator
Saturday, 2. June the profile sector Cyber Security of TU Darmstadt shows the virtual Smart City of the future. Visitors of Hessentag can explore the Smart City with the help of a tablet. The virtual Smart City represents a wide spectrum od the IT security research of TU Darmstadt:

The Hessentag takes place 25. May till 3. June in Korbach, Germany. The common booth of the initiative „Hessen creates Knowledge“ is places directly across the Continental Arena. The initiative presents their work and innovations with their partners on a area with 60 meters of length: Top-level research, expert discussions and theme days, science you can touch and experiments to participate in. these are the particular actions at the Hessentag.
