Award for issue of the IEEE Security & Privacy to postquantum cryptography

CRISP spokesman Prof. Johannes Buchmann, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, is one of the authors of the special issue on postquantum cryptography, the journal IEEE Security & Privacy, which has now been awarded the "Award of Excellence". The special edition presents the state of research and the major challenges in postquantum cryptography and discusses the transition of real systems to new technologies.

Due to the relevance of public-key cryptography and the increasingly realistic threat posed by this technology to quantum computers, it is necessary to develop practical and secure post-quantum cryptography. The special edition contains not only detailed articles on cryptography, but also articles on customizing privacy to the average user, digital self-defense and its legal foundations, and geocoding the Internet. The authors of the issue are Prof. Johannes Buchmann, Kristin Lauter, Micorsoft and Prof. Michele Mosca, University of Waterloo.
