Prof. Michael Waidner becomes chair as he takes over as CDO of the city Darmstadt

The Digital City Darmstadt GmbH is as of now supported by an ethics and technology advisory board. Chairman of the council is deputy CRISP spokesman Prof. Michael Waidner, Fraunhofer SIT and CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, in his function as chief digital officer (CDO) of the city of science Darmstadt. Other members of the council are among others the CRISP scientists Prof. Peter Buxmann and Prof. Christian Reuter, both CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt and Prof. Dieter Fellner, Fraunhofer IGD.

"Advice with people from science, politics and business enables us to assess the challenges of digitization from an ethical point of view and to implement the recommendations in the development process for our society," said head mayor of Darmstadt Partsch.

The advisory board is composed of experts from the fields of informatics and computer science, philosophy / ethics / pedagogy, sociology - industrial sociology, urban and spatial sociology with architecture and urban planning as well as the field of environment and sustainability. In addition, one representative from each of the political groups represented in the town council of the City of Science Darmstadt will be sent to the advisory board for each term of office.
