Many Businessmen Underestimate the Results of thr Digitalisation
Theme of the Tag der Deutschen Industrie 2017 of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI) was the industry 4.0 and their effects on the European economy. One of the experts of the panel discussion in Berlin, talking about the topics industry 4.0 and digitalisation was Prof. Peter Buxmann, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt.
He warned that many managers underestimate the effects of the digitalisation for their own companies. While for Managers the theme was realtively important for their own Company, they valued it as very important for other companies. The conclusion for many digitalisation experts was, that that they underestimate the effects of digitalisation for their own companies. „We call this unrelistic optimism“, said Peter Buxmann at a Panel discussion. Guests of this year's Tages der Deutschen Industrie were inter alia Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel und Karl-Heinz Streibich, CEO der Software.
