Symposium "Insurance Fraud"
Prof. Martin Steinebach talks about the representation of manipulation detection in pictures
The symposium deals with the theme "Effective Fraud Management in the Insurance Industry". Various speakers provide in-depth insights into strategies, methods and current fraud detection and combat projects. Prof. Martin Steinebach, Fraunhofer SIT, talks about his research in the field of automated fraud detection.
Fraud prevention is a key competitive factor in the insurance industry today. For this reason, insurers are increasingly professionalizing their organizations: they set up specialized departments, use technical aids to identify suspicious insurance claims or work closely with law enforcement agencies. But following the suspicion remains an elaborate puzzle game. All the more the special skills of the employees are in demand here, which are often a mixture of criminalist, physician, psychologist, lawyer, insurance and IT expert. At the same time, the technical possibilities for data-driven fraud detection continue to evolve. The bandwidth ranges from simple rule systems to semantic text analysis, social network analysis, file forensics and supervised and unsupervised learning.
The symposium will take place from 25. - 26.09.2018 in Leipzig.
