Three papers accepted at top conferences IEEE S&P and ACM CCS
Success for researchers of Applied Cryptography group at TU Darmstadt
Three papers from the group of Prof. Sebastian Faus, CYSEC [at] TU Darmstadt, have been accepted to the the top conferences IEEE S&P and ACM CCS.
Accepted papers are:
Generalized State Channel Networks
Stefan Dziembowski, Sebastian Faust und Kristina Hostakova
In: 25th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS), 2018
An extension of virtual payment networks to cryptocurrencies are so-called state-channel networks. In addition to simple virtual off-chain payments, they enable the execution of complex smart contracts in dicrect channels and channel networks. In this work, the authors give a first full specification for general state channel networks. Moreover, they provide formal security definitions and develop security proofs showing that their construction satisfies security against powerful adversaries.
FairSwap: How to fairly exchange digital goods
Stefan Dziembowski, Lisa Eckey und Sebastian Faust
In: 25th ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS), 2018
With FairSwap the authors introduce a new protocol for a fair exchange of digital goods over smart contracts. The solution has two distinctive features that make it particularly interesting for large files: the cost of running the smart contract on the blockchain is minimal, and instead of expensive cryptographic tools such as zero-knowledge proofs, simple hashing techniques are sufficient.
Perun: Virtual Payment Hubs over Cryptocurrencies
Stefan Dziembowski, Lisa Eckey, Sebastian Faust und Daniel Malinowski
In: IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy (S&P), 2019
In this work, the authors introduce Perun, a system that combines payment channels allowed on cryptocurrencies. they present a new technique called “virtual payment channels” which avoids interaction with intermediaries for every single payment.
ACM CCS 2018 is taking place October 15 - 19 in Toronto, Canada. IEEE S&P 2019 will be held May 20 - 22, 2019 in San Francisco, USA.
