TU Darmstadt and IBM work together in "Open Digital Lab"

New cooperation in the Cybersecurity Sector

The threat of potential cyber-attacks gains more and more in signifigance. The protection of private devices, corporate networks and critical infrastructures is a far-reaching concern, which can only be realized with special knowledge and methods. From fall onwards students, scientist as well as companies are able to learn how to develope and simultaneously safeguard innovative applications and solutions in the areas of Cybersecurity, Big Data Analytics and Artifical Intellegence at the "Open Digital Lab" of TU Darmstadt.

In addition to a number of Cloud-Services IBM provides a platform for exchanging security information (X-Force Exchange), which is able to recognize even intricate threat scenarios. With the collaboration signed in July both partners wish to create an open establishment in which industrial companies, students and scientists of the region have an opportunity to realize joint innovative ideas and in the process meet the increasing safety requirements. From TU Darmstadt CRISP-scientist Prof. Peter Buxmann and Prof. Mira Mezini are part of the "Open Digital Lab". The official inauguration of the center will take place in fall.
